Expo 2025 (Osaka)

Expo 2025 in Osaka is a huge fair with cool pavilions from all over the world. Japan has built a gigantic island solely for this event, with over 200,000 visitors today. The theme is about the future and new ideas. I went today, and it was such a fun experience!

We had tickets from 10:00, and man, did we underestimate how many people were going to this expo. In over 30 degrees, we had to stand in line for about 1.5 hours before we were let in.

Lots of umbrellas!!
Thousands of people were in line, and luckily Sota had an umbrella (which, as you can see, is very normal in Asia during the summer to protect from the sun). After we were let in, we visited the different country pavilions. The most popular ones had up to 3 hours of queue time, while others were shorter.

Turkmenistan!
I have never seen this many people in the same place at the same time. it was incredibly crowded. We went to see Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Scandinavia, and Poland, to mention a few.

A little part of the expo from above
In every pavilion, they wanted to showcase the progress their country is making and their achievements. For example, Turkmenistan (a dictatorship) had an amazing pavilion full of propaganda.

Welcome to Turkmenistan?
Did you know that only 14% of Japanese people have a passport, meaning 86% have never left the country? This expo is a way for millions of Japanese people to experience how the world outside Japan looks! Being in the Norwegian pavilion, and seeing their faces after experiencing the northern lights and Norwegian nature?! Unforgettable.

In the China pavilion? There was stream to their astronauts..
